Before dinner and our evening programs our girls practiced for the 2nd annual bishop rap off between 18th ward and 34th ward. They put everything they got into it!















Practice makes perfect, and they practiced for hours! Our bishop was a good sport and learned the moves very quickly. Of course 34th ward was no competion this year.

101 degrees and no A/C

Yes, you read that right! Our A/C is not working right so we are left to fans and ice water. Hopefully we will get it fixed this afternoon, we think our fan motor went out. Ashlee actually left yesterday morning for a week, so we spent most of the afternoon at her house watching movies and we brought our dinner over to cook it there. You just don't realize how great the A/C is until it is gone.

Trying to catch up

As you can see I am trying to catch up on the past 3 months. I think we are just about up to date now. Enjoy the new pictures and the comings and goings of our little family.

I would like to introduce you to Mia Hamm!!!!!!

Hamm is the all time leading scorer, male or female, in international soccer. (I think with over 170 goals) She was a five-time US soccer player of the year, the most any player has been honored. In 2001 and 2002 she was named FIFA female soccer player of the year. She was a 1991 and 1998 world cup champion. She made the US womens team at age 15. Her and her team won gold in the olympics in 1996 and 2004 and a silver medal in 2000. And most importantly she is Racheal's soccer idol!

Brandi Chastain was a member of the medal winning olympic teams in 1996, 2000, and 2004. She scored the winning penalty kick in the women's world cup where she helped her team capture the title, she also received a lot of attention for her celebration after the kick when she took her jersey off and ran down the field.

So why do I want to introduce these fine ladies to you??? Because Racheal and Sarah got to meet them at a soccer clinic in Eagle Idaho on June 14th!!!! I was watching the news that morning and they were interviewing Mia Hamm about the free soccer clinic she was putting on that afternoon. YIKES!! Did they just say free and Mia Hamm in the same sentence??? Of course this was the Saturday right before girls camp, my busiest Saturday of the year, but what is a mom supposed to do? So we drop everything and call some friends and head to the soccer park to meet Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain!!! Racheal puts on her #9 jersery and away we go! It was a beautiful sunny day, and the clinic was so fun. We had a great time meeting Racheal's idol. I asked her what was more fun, meeting Cinderella or Mia Hamm? She said Mia Hamm, and if you know Racheal than that must mean an awful lot to her. They did not have time to take pictures with every girl there, they were already late for their plane, but we got some pictures and learned some new skills that Racheal can't wait to try out. They even invited parents out with their kids to try a few things, Colby even got to talk to Mia Hamm, I think he has a new girlfriend!

Over all it was a magical day, one I am sure Racheal will never forget!

Snow? What snow?

Colby and Sarah, along with some friends of ours, prehiked the trail in May that the 4th level campers were to hike in June. About half way up they ran into snow! Yup snow! This is why we prehiked it before we sent up a group of girls. So what is a stake camp director to do when the meadow has 3 feet of snow in it that 23 girls were suppose to sleep in? Well, first we had a meeting with the hike specialist and her husband, they still wanted to do it. So, you guessed it, we called them all and told them to forget the swimsuits and bring boots! They hiked it 5 miles up and camped in the snow and then hiked 5 miles down the next morning! No injuries and they said they had fun!

Alissa turns 14!

Happy Birthday Alissa!
Poor Alissa always has her birthday fall right before camp which is the busiest time of year at our house, so it was a pretty low key 14th birthday, we opened presents then went out to dinner at her favorite pizza place.

I made her a fleece blanket in her high school colors so she can keep warm at all those football games, she even mentioned it was big enough for 2 people (a small oversight on my part, what was I thinking?) So we told her the only boy that she will be keeping warm is her dad. LOL!

The weather was perfect and all went well. We sure had a lot of fun. Colby came with us for the whole week and helped out and Racheal and Alissa were there. Here are a few of Racheal's pictures from her camera. (I will see what Alissa has on her camera and get those posted as well)
