Soccer season comes to an end

The Wild Mustangs (Racheal's team that Colby and I coach) had a 6-2 season, much better than last season. It sure is fun to watch the girls grow and develop skills throughout the year. Sarah's team did great as well, she continues to play forward and goalie and she gets to move up to the next level this fall which means that both our girls will be on the same team. Can you say thank goodness?????????? This means only 2 practices instead of 4 throughout the week and only 1 game on Saturdays! So here are a few highlights from the season...

End of the school year

The girls got out of school on June 4th! WooHoo! Summer Break! Everyone had wonderful report cards. (not sure who's kids they really are) Next year we will have 3 kids at 3 different schools. Alissa is going into high school, Racheal at middle school and Sarah in her last year at elementary school. We will be busy running kids to and from all those schools. Alissa keeps reminding us not to worry because this winter she gets to take drivers ed so she will be able to drive herself where ever she needs to go. AAUUGH! Not sure we are ready for that, but she is! She informed me a couple weeks ago she wants me to teach her how to drive not her dad. LOL! Anyway...here is a picture of Racheal with her favorite middle school teacher on the last day of school, yeah for great teachers!

Sarah qualified for regional track

Towards the end of the school year each school holds a track and fields event and then the top 3 qualifiers get to compete against other schools from our area at the local high school. Sarah qualified in 3 events, the 75m, the 200m and the relay race. She did a great job at the regional races and we all had a fun day supporting her. Yeah! Go Sarah!

Sarah's birthday

Sarah turned 10 years old on March 17th. She is now officially in the double digits, which everybody but her thinks is cool. We opened presents at home and then went to Red Robin for dinner. Thank goodness I was able to talk her into Red Robin, she first asked for Hamburger Helper for dinner. Yuck! We came home and had cinnamon rolls for dessert. The kids latest thing is to have cinnamon rolls instead of cake for their birthdays and because it was St Patrick's Day I made the frosting green.

Easter Plans

Colby is at the airport picking up his mom, she needed her grandchildren fix so she decided to come visit us. The girls are sooo excited, they have the day off of school today and all next week is spring break. We plan on going out to dinner tonight (there is nothing in the house to eat, so I have to go grocery shopping after dinner) Tomorrow there is an Easter Breakfast at the church that Colby is helping out with so we will go to that, then we hope to catch the movie "Horton hears a Who" in the afternoon. Sarah wanted to see it for her birthday but wanted to wait until Grandma came into town so she could go with us. We have to fit dying eggs in there at some point as well. Alissa wants to make lasagna for dinner on Saturday. Then on Sunday we have church in the afternoon and then we will have dinner and an egg hunt. Baskets will be in the morning. Easter is such fun.

I am such a slacker...ever since I started working I keep forgetting to decorate for the holidays. I have cute stuff to put out for Easter, but I forget about it. Now that Easter is only 2 days away is it a little late to decorate? Maybe the kids can do it for me when I go to the grocery store tonight. However I never forget about the Christmas decorations, that is my favorite holiday. We will see what the kids come up with tonight for decorations, I am sure it will be just beautiful.

Tennis anyone?

Racheal started tennis on Monday and quit Wednesday. Guess we will not be attending any tennis matches any time soon. She said she liked it but all her matches would be Mondays and Wednesday right when we have soccer practice, she says she like soccer better and so she decided to drop tennis. That is okay with us, we enjoy coaching her in soccer and are looking forward to the start of the season. Our first game is April 5th, can't wait.

Soccer Season!

This Saturday marks the start of soccer season for some of us, Colby and I have our 1st coaches meeting and we get our rosters. All our girls from last season will be returning and we are getting 2 new girls that I know of. Practice starts in 2 weeks.

Racheal will be taking a referring class this Saturday afternoon to become certified to ref for the U7 and U8 games. By taking this free class they will pay her $15 per game. She is so excited to have her first job and is already planning how to spend her hard earned money. She will do a great job and is already taking it very seriously. It will be fun to watch her ref.
